| The Africa Book of Happiness Introduction In 2009, the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola embarked on an historic journey to celebrate the love of football with not only the host nation, but with each country on the African continent. During this journey The Africa Book of Happiness Project was created by Artist/Photographer JOSEPH PETER. The Africa Book of Happiness Project is a photographic study of happiness and celebration across the African continent during the AFRICA leg of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour during Fall 2009. The objectives of this project were to capture and share the inherent optimism and positivity of the African People with the rest of the world, before, during and after the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. JOSEPH PETER traveled on the AFRICAN Trophy Tour and captured this journey across the continent over a 70 day period. The result is true collective study of happiness and celebration of Africa consisting of iconic portraits as well as insights into each photograph. |
